Above is Loophead Lighthouse - The Lighthouse was opened to the public this summer and was a huge tourist attraction. In the first Five weeks over 12,000 people have visited the Lighthouse and it is a fantastic place.

Welcome to the Loophead Peninsula in West Clare, Ireland. There are three villages in the Loophead Peninsula in West Clare - Kilbaha, Cross and Carrigaholt. Kilballyowen is the name of our
Parish and Development Company.


The Loophead Peninsula in West Clare is a place of natural beauty, tranquility, and has breathtaking coastal scenery.
On the Peninsula there are places to visit such as Loophead Lighthouse, The Bridges of Ross,The Ionad Cois Cuain Memorial Garden and The Five Pilots Memorial in Kilbaha and The Little Ark.

The village of Kilbaha is situated on Kilbaha Bay. From here you can enjoy a sea-fishing trip or just spend some time on the beach. Spectacular, coastal cliff scenery is to be seen throughout the Loophead Peninsula Co. Clare.


A warm welcome awaits you in the local hostelries and holiday accommodation in Kilbaha, Cross, Carrigaholt and in nearby Kilkee.
Loophead and the Bridges of Ross are famous for bird-watching and fishing. In Kilbaha there are organised sea-fishing trips. In Carrigaholt Dolphin Watching trips are a must.
